Joel Tembo

Pastor and Relationship Coordinator

He is the second of four children in his family, which resides in a small village in Zambia’s Eastern Province. At a young age, he left home and was cared for at a youth facility dedicated to vulnerable children. Later, he moved to Lusaka to live with an uncle, who treated him harshly. Growing up in a broken family brought numerous challenges and left deep emotional scars.

Despite these hardships, he completed secondary school and earned an ‘O’ level certificate. His life took a transformative turn when he attended Rhema Zambia Bible College, where he received a diploma in Biblical Studies. It was during his time at Rhema that he experienced a significant personal transformation, choosing to leave behind the pain of his past and embrace a new beginning. He believes this shift was largely due to discovering his identity in Christ and fostering a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus.

He now serves as a Pastor and Relationship Coordinator at The Unpaved Road. He considers this role a God-given opportunity to reach out to broken families who have lost faith in God, as well as to those whose dreams have been crushed by failure, frustration, and limitations. He looks forward to seeing lives transformed, hope restored, and healing brought to hurting families.
